Lesson from the Crisis / the year of 1997
Be innovative, Act! / Coaching from Sub Zero — fighting against COVID-19 with Zoom / Spring 2020 /Session 13
This is an internal memo, written by me, at the age of 32, in February 1997. How did I find this memo? Classic; through the detox. Nothing to do during the stay-home suggestion period in this COVID-19 pandemic (Japan does not enforce lockdown), detox, or clearing up rooms is one of the most efficient and effective ways to spend time at home. Gee, all people I met which I clearly remember. I trust that this is not a coincidence to find this memo at this timing. This memo recalled clearly what was happening on these days and important lessons to learn.
I was a young staff at the planning division in investment advisory and investment banking firms in Japan. After joining that division, I was in the position to receive so many invitations from all over the world with investment ideas. Particularly in late 1996, the US was in the early stage of “dot-com” bubble, we received many invitations from all around the US. Looks like attractive, but can not find the final grit to set a green-light, hence I took one week coast to coast business trip in the US in February 1997, to see the reality.
