Coaching from Sub-Zero for post-pandemic / Session 4, Spring 2023
It is a 10-month interval from the previous hideaway to here, Mauna Lani at the Big Islands. Indeed, a huge clean-up work of my house started, but that cleaned up my closed mind to be wide open.
Focused Zemi with Mana and Yuki
Among Nakagawa Zemi members, the Senior class is in the red-hot middle of job-hunting. Among these, Mana (Manaya) and Yuki are a kind of odd couple and a great team to work together to search for jobs and approach the potential. Totally opposite characters they have, on which can check and balance each other, and this format, the Buddy system, works quite well on job-hunting; Literately, I did the same thing on my job-hunting about 35 years ago (my buddy at that time, Doi-san became an executive at Goldman Sachs).
Yuki is now stepping up his process to receive the green light in human resources and development. Moreover, Mana got one from one of the top-notch management consulting firms! This is remarkable as the one and only from the current college and as a business high school graduate (NB; As far as know, US and UK do not have an equivalent, and hard to tell. Please imagine the engineering middle school on business. As such, Japan has its own unique education system, and I strongly recommend to extend their strengths, but also in English as well).
After Mana’s excited update on his career setting, I said “Hey Mana, I do not think you have not accomplished a proper business school type of education yet, even attending Harvard Business School Online Challenge, and I am happy to set special courses every week with Yuki”. Then Mana replied, “Delighted Sensei! I learned like Mapping analysis, 5 Forces, or SWOT analysis at high school, but want to learn again”.
,,, Wait a sec. I did not know that business high schools teach that level. What is happening to the normal high school? Or even how is the college education now?
Anyhow for Mana or Yuki, this is a great time to learn! I always think that timing is the key. People really learn something when it is really necessary and will die without learning…
