Chasing”α”, not only”β”, as an Educator
Lesson from my students, after the state of emergency
Coaching from Sub Zero — fighting against COVID-19 with Zoom / Autumn-Winter 2021–22 / Week 6
At last, Japan eased the state of emergency on COVID 19 and gradually the traffic is coming back.
This week has a national holiday on 3rd Nov, and most of peoples are getting easy to take a little longer holiday (very healthy), and I am receiving some student’s visit from Kyoto to Tokyo at last!
One group visits with her family and one with her friend; One of them are still struggling to find job after the graduation and asked Kotaro, a leader of Nakagawa Zemi 0ki, to meet up that student in Ginza.
Normal teacher may ask that person to adjust her/his way for job hunting, but I am a kind of different animal. Each person has each strength and weaknesses, and I always try to find their strength mainly and seek the breakthrough together. Also I set these exercise at the counter at long running coffee shop in Ginza, then the shop master and even the other old customer there would help us at this exercise. This is exactly the Phronesis (http://nonaka-ik.org/nonaka/books/992.html), I believe.
Thanks to the other students (Kanta and Mayu chan through FB Messenger chat), we could find at least one action plan to her/him, and Kotaro and I went to the second round at the local pub with a pint.
Kotaro entered one of the largest retail chains and worked at local branch as Sales Executive of financial arm. But at last, he could get ticket to join their Analytic Center at the headquarters and his career as Marketer has just begun.
